Anna’s Take
America hates minorities. Whether you’re disabled, black, Indigenous, Muslim, queer, or anything I may have missed, this country actively fights to eradicate your existence around the world. Not just in America but everywhere. Minorities have always experienced fascism in this country. They were the original victims of it. Now, though, in 2024, white folk who never had to worry about fascism in the past are beginning to have to worry about it. It's coming, and everyone knows it. So, are these white folk acting in solidarity to root out fascism? No, instead they're enabling by voting for right-wingers who run under the Democrat Party banner to save themselves. Mind you, the Democrats don't benefit minorities, not even one bit. Anti-trans legislation has swept the nation under Democrat rule. Indigenous folk continue to be victimized and have their land continually taken away for oil by Biden and Democrat governors (like Kamala's running mate, Walz). Disabled folk continue to suffer as Democrats support funding bills that slash welfare for the disabled. Black people continue to be hurt as Democrats across the nation support boosting police funding. Democrats are just as culpable in the rise of fascism as Republicans. But white folk, because if they vote for Democrats won't feel the effects, fool themselves into thinking Democrats are warriors against fascism and then try to silence minorities who say otherwise. You cannot claim to be an ally to oppressed people in this country and across the world if you vote Democrat. You're supporting fascism. The entire system must be uprooted and replaced with one controlled by the working class rather than CEOs and lawyers. This can only happen through the organization of the working class which happens in the workplace which Democrats are fully against. For all the big talk by many Democrats, including Biden, they certainly break a lot of strikes and union membership continues to fall. Pushing for unionization of individual workplaces is merely the beginning and the left is falling further and further behind. Until they can reverse the trend of falling union membership, America has no chance of ending fascism.
